Why am I building this site?

My name is Barbara and I am, obviously, a big fan of Akitas. This took on greater proportions when Kensho came into my life in the year 2005. I've documented the first 2 years of his life in an online diary. Unfortunately for you, it's in Dutch… and now I'm transferring it to this website. Also I maintain Akita-Blog.com, but because of some issues I'll be moving those articles gradually over to this website. Besides, I want to gather all Akita information that I have onto one big website. Focus is key!

I'm building this website for informational purposes only. When you think there is something wrong with your Akita, then please have an appointment scheduled at the vet's. As I always say: It's better to err on the side of caution.

I'm not a vet and not a professional dog trainer either. Does your Akita have behavioral issues? I advice you to seek a professional dog trainer.
